Brad Pabian’s background includes almost 20 years of direct student service including two Masters degrees in School Counseling (George Mason University, 07’) and Counseling Psychology (Loyola University, 00’). In 2011, his personal social justice narrative was published in the book Social Justice Counseling: The Next Steps Beyond Multiculturalism (2011). He has also studied abroad extensively in both Spain and Costa Rica and is bilingual (Spanish/English).
Brad came to Montgomery College in 2013 after serving in the role of School Counselor for 8 years in both Fairfax County Public Schools and Anne Arundel County Public Schools. During that time he developed programs that empowered minority youth to attend college as well as lead professional development programs with teachers on achieving racial equity in education.
As an ACES Academic Coach at Montgomery College, Brad has continued his passion for empowering minority youth to get ready for college and complete college. He has been a lead presenter at a number of local, state, and national conferences on issues related to social justice and student success and in 2017 he was appointed to chair a sub-committee of the President’s Advisory Committee on Equity and Inclusion (PACEI). He is currently completing a year-long professional development opportunity in the President’s Office at Montgomery College.
